We provide emergency accommodation for women who are affected by domestic abuse in refuge and self-contained flats.
Refuge is a safe place with specialised staff on hand to provide information, practical help and one-to-one support.
Virginia House
Virginia House is emergency accommodation available to women and children affected by domestic abuse.
Recently refurbished, it includes self-contained apartments and also ensuite bedrooms with shared kitchens, laundry and recreation facilities.
Ruth House
Ruth House provides six apartments where women and their children and young people can be accommodated in their own family living environment.
Refuge staff work with women to identify their individual needs and develop a support plan, including:
- Safety Planning
- Housing Information
- Money Management
- Court Support
- Advocacy
We provide information and offer one to one support enabling women to explore options and make informed choices.
We provide practical support to help women access services including housing benefits, social services including housing benefits, social services, healthcare and education, financial services, PSNI and legal support.
Refuge provides short term accommodation, and women can stay with us for a few days or several months depending on their needs.
All accommodation is fully accessible, with staff available in refuge or on-call 24 hours a day.
Children and Young People
Dedicated staff support mums to help children settle in to the refuge. With a fully equipped playroom and outdoor facilities, we aim to make every child feel welcome, safe and secure.
